The following is from The Columbus Dispatch:

STEVENS Jane Stevens, passed away March 7, 2010 after a long illness. Jane Frances Tilghman Stevens was born March 27, 1923 to George and Sarah Janette Tilghman in Crisfield, Maryland and grew up on the eastern shore. Jane was a descendent of Tench Tilghman, aide-de-camp to General George Washington, during the American Revolutionary War and was also descended from a survivor of the Battle of Gettysburg. She married Robert E. Stevens, Sr. in 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland and lived in Pennsylvania and Texas before settling in Bexley, Ohio where they raised their five children. Preceded in death by her husband in 1988, Jane is survived by her children, Robert Stevens, Jr. (Gloria) of Reynoldsburg, William Stevens (Jan) of St. Albans, WV, Michael Stevens (Terri) of Columbus, Mark Stevens (Diane) of Richfield and Elise Stevens Miller (Scot) of Richfield; grandchildren, Scott, Marcie, Allison, Evan, Will, Jeffrey and several great-grandchildren, Brother, George Tilgham (Linda) of Salisbury, MD; sister-in-law, Doris Stevens of San Marino, CA; and several nieces and nephews. Jane was an active volunteer throughout her childrens' school years and also with the American Cancer Society through the Bexley Thrift Shop. She traveled extensively with the Bexley Seniors and spent many happy times with the Red Hat Society. She was an accomplished seamstress and quilter, making hand-stitched heirloom quilts for each of her children and also contributed to the quilt depicting famous scenes from the State of Ohio which is showcased at the Ohio Historical Society. An avid reader, Jane could often be found with a book, at a library or solving a crossword. She loved Lake Erie and spent many happy summers there with her family. Longtime parishioner at Christ the King Catholic Church. Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at EGAN-RYAN FUNERL HOME, 4019 East Livingston Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday 10 a.m., Christ the King Church, 2777 East Livingston Ave. Burial Resurrection Cemetery. Jane knew what is was like to have sons in military service while she had toddlers at her feet, and she always managed to find humor in life's challenges. Her proudest accomplishment was that she raised five children to be happy, successful, responsible adults and her children and their families brought her profound joy. Jane filled many roles and answered to many names: wife, mother, volunteer, Sis, Grandma, Grammy, Mimi and the name that summed up her life's work: "Mom". In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests you consider donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Ohio or the American Cancer Society. Visit egan-ryan.com for condolences.

Arnold Sports Classic

Meck attended the Arnold Sports Classic, especially visiting the Fitness Expo at the Greater Columbus Convention Center downtown on Saturday, March 6, 2010. While he didn't see Arnold, Meck did see Sylvester Stallone and Tod Friedman in the crowd.
