Charity Newsie Atchie hawks papers to clothe needy kids for Christmas

Here is Atchie's account of how the day went:

Yesterday went really well as we collected over $10,000 on the corner, and over $480,000 on the day! Really incredible.... The day total was nearly a 10% increase over last year according to the CMH Dispatch.
Thanks much for your efforts to broadcast out to everyone. I did speak to Rhonda yesterday and need to send her my address so she can mail a donation.
Wendy, Lewie, Chuck T and Kaki all stopped by which was really cool.

Again, thanks for all of your help with reaching to the class and others re: Newsie Drive day as much appreciated!!

Atchie Charity Newsies on Saturday

Atchie sent this to Teri:

Yes Teri many thanks for the plug as I will be at James and Livingston all day Saturday collecting for the Newsies. For those that are unfamiliar with the Charity Newsies, it is an organization that provides school clothing for children ages 5 - 17 in the Franklin county area that otherwise would not have means to purchase clothing for school purposes. 100% of all monies collected during the year are used to buy clothing with operational expenses covered by the members' annual dues. Normally each year the organization clothes approximately 15,000 children with clothing and school accessories.

Normally I work the North side of the intersection so if anyone wants to stop by if you head South on James I will be on that side of the intersection and would love to see anyone who can make it over that day. Be prepared, however, for a very cold handshake..!! :)

Thanks much in advance for any/all donations.

Take care all!
Atchie
