Grid Lions contending for playoff spot

The 6-3 Bexley Lions could possibly make the state football postseason playoffs. The Lions are currently ranked 7th in Region 12 of Division 3 and jumped to that spot from the 9th position last week as a result of their overwhelming 42-20 victory over The Tweeds this past Friday at Cherry Bottom Road. The top eight teams in a given region advance to the first round of the state tournament. A tournament berth would be the first in school history.

The Blue and White men of coach John Smith close the regular season at home this Friday versus Heath. Smith played on the successful Mount Union College teams in the '90's and is the brother of basketball's Katie Smith.

Go Lions!

Teri Cohodes Morof's all heart!

Got this from Teri:

Hi David,

Hope you had a happy new year. I wanted to let you know that I just had quite an ordeal. I passed out at my home Monday morning and Lee called 911. We found out that my heart was stopping and that was what was causing me to pass out. After discussing my condition with the doctors, and after fainting at the hospital while hooked up to monitors they were quickly able to diagnose me as having a condition called Carotoid Sinus Hypersensitivity. The treatment was to get a pace maker. It counter act the problem, the pacemaker will kick in when my heart goes below a certain rate or when it stops all together. It will give my heart a electric shock. I can live a long life with a pace maker. I will need to get the battery changed every 7-8 years. Wanted you to know how lucky and blessed I am to live another day! If you want to post this on the blog, feel free.

Best,

Teri Cohodes Morof

Our prayers and best wishes to Teri for a quick, complete, and successful recovery.
