HANNA John Jay Sherman Hanna, age 78, died December 7, 2009. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on May 28, 1931 to Margaret and Walter Hanna Jr. Jay is a graduate of the Columbus Academy. Upon graduation, he attended Denison University and went into the Naval Reserve. Jay served as President of Hanna Chemical Coatings and retired after 42 years. He is a long time member of Broad Street Presbyterian Church, past President of the City Club, and member of Columbus Rotary, the Golf Club, Columbus Country Club, Rocky Fork Hunt & Country Club, the Columbus Club, and Westerville Camera Group. Jay is preceded in death by his parents and wife Rovilla "Boo" Humphreys Hanna. He is survived by his sons, Sherman Hanna, Bob Hanna, and Scott (Patricia) Hanna; grandchildren, Lauren, Jay, Mackenzie, and Colby; sister, Sally Hoffman; and many nieces, nephews, other family, and friends. Family will receive friends from 2-4 pm and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 11, 2009 at Broad Street Presbyterian Church, 760 East Broad Street.
